Live interactive polls and surveys promote active engagement in teaching and offer students low risk participation opportunities. They also allow staff to gauge understanding in class and enhance the two-way connectivity between students and educators, enabling educators to adapt to sticking points as necessary.
A number of interactive live polling softwares exist, with three of the most common include Kahoot!, Mentimeter and PollEverywhere. These three services can all be embedded into PowerPoint, allowing for the specific poll to be automatically started at the right stage of the presentation.
